Hadith #557

English Translation

Abd al-Razzaq narrated to us, Ma'mar narrated to us, from al-Zuhri, from Anas (رضي الله عنه) who said: the Prophet ﷺ fell from a horse and his right side was scraped. They entered upon him and he led them in prayer while sitting. He gestured to them: 'Sit down.' When he finished, he said: 'The imam is only appointed to be followed. When he prays standing, pray standing. When he bows, bow. When he raises his head, raise yours. When he prostrates, prostrate. And when he says Sami' Allahu liman hamidah, say Rabbana wa laka al-hamd.'
