English Translation

Waki' narrated to us, from Shu'bah, from Qatadah — and Ibn Ja'far said: Shu'bah narrated to us, he said: I heard Qatadah, same meaning — from Anas (رضي الله عنه) that the Prophet ﷺ wanted to write a letter to the Romans. It was said to him: 'They do not read a letter unless it has a seal.' So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had a ring made of silver and its inscription was 'Muhammad Rasulullah.'
