حَدَّثَنَا زَيْدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى الدِّمَشْقِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعِيدٍ حَدَّثَنَا مَكْحُولٌ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ قِيلَ يَا
رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مَتَى نَدَعُ الِائْتِمَارَ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَالنَّهْيَ عَنْ الْمُنْكَرِ قَالَ إِذَا ظَهَرَ فِيكُمْ مَا ظَهَرَ فِي بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ إِذَا كَانَتْ الْفَاحِشَةُ فِي كِبَارِكُمْ وَالْمُلْكُ فِي صِغَارِكُمْ وَالْعِلْمُ فِي رُذَالِكُمْ

English Translation
Zayd ibn Yahya al-Dimashqi narrated to us, Abu Mu'id narrated to us, Makhul narrated to us, from Anas ibn Malik (رضي الله عنه) who said: It was said: 'O Messenger of Allah, when do we stop commanding good and forbidding evil?' He said: 'When what appeared among the nations before you appears among you: when the lowest of you has authority, when your young ones are immoral, and when knowledge is among your vile ones.'
