English Translation

Bahz narrated to us, Hammad narrated to us, Hisham ibn Zayd narrated to me, who said: I entered with my grandfather into the governor's courtyard, and there was a hen tied up being shot at with arrows. Every time an arrow struck it, it cried out. He said: 'the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibited — or forbade — using living creatures as targets.'
