حَدَّثَنَا زَيْدُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي عَلِيُّ بْنُ مَسْعَد

َةَ الْبَاهِلِيُّ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كُلُّ ابْنِ آدَمَ خَطَّاءٌ فَخَيْرُ الْخَطَّائِينَ التَّوَّابُونَ وَلَوْ أَنَّ لِابْنِ آدَمَ وَادِيَيْنِ مِنْ مَالٍ لَابْتَغَى لَهُمَا ثَالِثًا وَلَا يَمْلَأُ جَوْفَ ابْنِ آدَمَ إِلَّا التُّرَابُ

English Translation

Anas (رضي الله عنه) narrated: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Every son of Adam is a sinner, and the best of sinners are those who repent. If you were to have sins reaching the clouds of the sky, then you sought forgiveness from Allah, He would forgive you."
