Arabic Text
قَالَ عَبْد اللَّهِ وَجَدْتُ فِي كِتَابِ أَبِي بِخَطِّ يَدِهِ حَدَّثَنَا زَيْدُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ حَمْزَةَ حَدَّثَنَا خَلَفٌ
أَبُو الرَّبِيعِ إِمَامُ مَسْجِدِ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ حَدَّثَنَا أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّ هَذَا الدِّينَ مَتِينٌ فَأَوْغِلُوا فِيهِ بِرِفْقٍ

English Translation
Anas ibn Malik (رضي الله عنه) narrated: the Prophet ﷺ said: "The most merciful of my ummah toward my ummah is Abu Bakr. The strongest of them regarding the command of Allah is 'Umar. The most genuinely modest of them is 'Uthman. The most knowledgeable of them in recitation is Ubayy ibn Ka'b. The most knowledgeable of them in the lawful and unlawful is Mu'adh ibn Jabal. The most knowledgeable of them in the laws of inheritance is Zayd ibn Thabit. And every nation has a trustworthy guardian, and the trustworthy guardian of this ummah is Abu 'Ubaydah ibn al-Jarrah."
