English Translation

Anas ibn Malik (رضي الله عنه) narrated: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, Abu Bakr, 'Umar, and 'Uthman (رضي الله عنهم) used to open the recitation with 'Al-hamdu lillahi Rabb il-'alamin' [Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds]. They did not recite 'Bismillah ir-Rahman ir-Raheem' loudly at the beginning or end.
