حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ أَخْ

بَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَتَّابًا مَوْلَى ابْنِ هُرْمُزَ يَقُولُ صَحِبْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ فِي سَفِينَةٍ فَسَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ بَايَعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِيَدِي هَذِهِ وَأَشَارَ بِيَدِهِ عَلَى السَّمْعِ وَالطَّاعَةِ فِيمَا اسْتَطَعْتُ

English Translation

Anas ibn Malik (رضي الله عنه) narrated: "I gave my pledge of allegiance to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ with this hand of mine" — and he indicated his right hand — "and I have not touched silk or brocade softer than the palm of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, nor have I smelled any scent more fragrant than the scent of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. I served the Prophet ﷺ for ten years, and he never said 'uff' to me."
