English Translation
Anas (رضي الله عنه) narrated: When 'Abd al-Rahman ibn 'Awf (رضي الله عنه) came as an emigrant, the Prophet ﷺ made brotherhood between him and Sa'd ibn al-Rabi'. Sa'd said to him: "I have wealth — half of it is yours. And I have two wives — look at which of them appeals to you, and I will divorce her. When her waiting period ends, you may marry her." 'Abd al-Rahman said: "May Allah bless your family and wealth for you. Show me the way to the marketplace." He went to the market and traded until he earned a profit. He came with traces of yellow perfume. the Prophet ﷺ said: "What is this?" He said: "I married an Ansari woman." He said: "What did you give her?" He said: "A date-stone's weight of gold." He said: "Hold a feast, even if only with one sheep."
