حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ عَ

نْ حُمَيْدٍ عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ بَيْنَمَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي إِذْ سَمِعَ بُكَاءَ صَبِيٍّ فَتَجَوَّزَ فِي صَلَاتِهِ فَظَنَنَّا أَنَّهُ إِنَّمَا خَفَّفَ مِنْ أَجْلِ الصَّبِيِّ أَنَّ أُمَّهُ كَانَتْ فِي الصَّلَاةِ

English Translation
Anas (رضي الله عنه) narrated: While the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was praying, he heard the crying of a child. He shortened his prayer. We thought he shortened it because the child's mother was among the worshippers and he wanted her to attend to the child.
