Anas ibn Malik (رضي الله عنه) narrated: "I used to serve the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and would enter upon him without permission. One day I came and entered, and he said: 'O my son, a matter has occurred today. Do not enter upon me from now on unless you have permission.'" Thabit [the sub-narrator] said: I asked a companion of Anas about it, and he said it was about the hijab [verse of privacy].
