English Translation

Anas ibn Malik (رضي الله عنه) was visited by a group from Madinah. He asked: "Have you prayed 'Asr?" They said: "Yes." We said: "Tell us — may Allah set you right — when was the Messenger of Allah ﷺ praying 'Asr?" He said: "We used to pray 'Asr, then a man could go to the Banu 'Amr ibn 'Awf and find them [still] praying 'Asr" — indicating how early the Prophet ﷺ prayed it.
