Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ عَنْ ثَابِتٍ عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ لَمَّا قَدِمَ أَهْلُ الْيَمَنِ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالُوا ابْعَثْ مَعَنَا رَجُلًا يُعَلّ
ِمُنَا كِتَابَ رَبِّنَا وَالسُّنَّةَ قَالَ فَأَخَذَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِيَدِ أَبِي عُبَيْدَةَ فَدَفَعَهُ إِلَيْهِمْ وَقَالَ هَذَا أَمِينُ هَذِهِ الْأُمَّةِ

English Translation
Anas (رضي الله عنه) narrated: When the people of Yemen came to the Prophet ﷺ, they said: "Send with us a man to teach us the Book of our Lord and the Sunnah." the Prophet ﷺ took the hand of Abu 'Ubaydah ibn al-Jarrah and said: "This is the trustworthy guardian of this ummah."
