Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ حَدَّثَنَا حَزْمٌ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ الْحَسَنَ يَقُولُ حَدَّثَنَا أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَرَجَ ذَاتَ يَوْمٍ لِبَعْضِ مَخَارِجِهِ وَمَعَهُ نَاسٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِهِ فَانْطَلَقُوا يَسِيرُونَ فَحَضَرَتْ الصَّلَاةُ فَلَمْ يَجِدْ الْقَوْمُ مَاءً يَتَوَضَّئُونَ بِهِ فَقَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ وَاللَّهِ مَا نَجِدُ مَا نَتَوَضَّأُ بِهِ وَرَأَى فِي وُجُوهِ أَصْحَابِهِ كَرَاهِيَةَ ذَلِكَ فَانْطَ
لَقَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ الْقَوْمِ فَجَاءَ بِقَدَحٍ مِنْ مَاءٍ يَسِيرٍ فَأَخَذَ نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَتَوَضَّأَ مِنْهُ ثُمَّ مَدَّ أَصَابِعَهُ الْأَرْبَعَةَ عَلَى الْقَدَحِ ثُمَّ قَالَ هَلُمُّوا فَتَوَضَّئُوا فَتَوَضَّأَ الْقَوْمُ حَتَّى أَبْلَغُوا فِيمَا يُرِيدُونَ قَالَ سُئِلَ كَمْ بَلَغُوا قَالَ سَبْعِينَ أَوْ نَحْوَ ذَلِكَ
Isnad Chain
English Translation
Yunus narrated to us, Hazm narrated to us, he said I heard al-Hasan saying: Anas ibn Malik (رضي الله عنه) narrated to us that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out one day for some errand, and with him were some of his Companions. They set out walking when the time for prayer arrived, and there was no water to be found. Some of the people went off and came back without finding water. So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was brought a vessel containing a small amount of water. He placed his hand in the vessel and commanded them to perform wudu from it. Anas said: I saw the water gushing from between his fingers, and the people performed wudu until they had all completed it.
