English Translation
Mu'ammal narrated to us, Hammad narrated to us, Thabit narrated to us, from Anas (رضي الله عنه) that the Prophet ﷺ said to his Companions: 'Ask me.' A man stood up and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, who is my father?' He said: 'Your father is Hudhayfah' — to the one who used to be attributed to other than his father. Then 'Umar (رضي الله عنه) stood up and said: 'We are pleased with Allah as our Lord, Islam as our religion, and Muhammad as our Messenger. We seek refuge in Allah from trials.'
