English Translation

Muhammad ibn Abdullah narrated to us, Humayd narrated to us, from Anas ibn Malik (رضي الله عنه) who was asked about the voluntary prayer and fasting of the Prophet ﷺ. He said: He would fast during a month until we thought he would not break his fast (that month), and he would eat (not fast) until we thought he would not fast. If you wanted to see him praying at night, you could see him, and if you wanted to see him sleeping, you could see him.
