حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ حَدَّثَنَا حُمَيْدٌ عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ
وَسَلَّمَ الْإِزَارُ إِلَى نِصْفِ السَّاقِ فَلَمَّا رَأَى شِدَّةَ ذَلِكَ عَلَى الْمُسْلِمِينَ قَالَ إِلَى الْكَعْبَيْنِ لَا خَيْرَ فِيمَا أَسْفَلَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ

English Translation
'Affan narrated to us, Yazid ibn Zuray' narrated to us, Humayd narrated to us, from Anas (رضي الله عنه) who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'The izar (lower garment) should reach to the middle of the shin.' When he saw the difficulty of that upon the Muslims, he said: 'To the ankles — there is no good in what is below that.'
