Hadith #330
Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ أَخْبَرَنَا ثَابِتٌ عَنْ أَنَسٍ أ
َنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَمَّا خَلَقَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ آدَمَ وَصَوَّرَهُ ثُمَّ تَرَكَهُ فِي الْجَنَّةِ مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ أَنْ يَتْرُكَهُ فَجَعَلَ إِبْلِيسُ يُطِيفُ بِهِ فَلَمَّا رَآهُ أَجْوَفَ عَرَفَ أَنَّهُ خَلْقٌ لَا يَتَمَالَكُ

English Translation
'Affan narrated to us, Hammad narrated to us, Thabit informed us, from Anas (رضي الله عنه) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'When Allah (عز وجل) created Adam and formed him, then left him in Paradise for as long as Allah willed, Iblis began circling around him. When he saw that he was hollow, he knew that he was a creation that could not restrain itself.'
