حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْ
Body (Matn)
هِ وَسَلَّمَ بِأَخٍ لِي لِيُحَنِّكَهُ فِي الْمِرْبَدِ قَالَ فَرَأَيْتُهُ يَسِمُ شِيَاهًا أَحْسَبُهُ قَالَ فِي آذَانِهَا
Isnad Chain
English Translation
'Affan narrated to us, Shu'bah narrated to us, from Hisham ibn Zayd, from Anas ibn Malik (رضي الله عنه) who said: 'I brought my brother to the Prophet ﷺ to do tahnik (softening a date and rubbing it on the child's palate) at the animal pen. I found him branding a sheep. — Or he said: branding camels.'
