حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ زَيْدٍ وَحُمَيْدٌ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ جَوَّزَ ذَاتَ يَوْمٍ فِي صَلَاةِ الْفَجْرِ فَقِيلَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ لِمَ تَجَوَّزْتَ قَالَ سَمِع
ْتُ بُكَاءَ صَبِيٍّ فَظَنَنْتُ أَنَّ أُمَّهُ مَعَنَا تُصَلِّي فَأَرَدْتُ أَنْ أُفْرِغَ لَهُ أُمَّهُ وَقَدْ قَالَ حَمَّادٌ أَيْضًا فَظَنَنْتُ أَنَّ أُمَّهُ تُصَلِّي مَعَنَا فَأَرَدْتُ أَنْ أُفْرِغَ لَهُ أُمَّهُ قَالَ عَفَّانُ فَوَجَدْتُهُ عِنْدِي فِي غَيْرِ مَوْضِعٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ زَيْدٍ وَحُمَيْدٍ وَثَابِتٍ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ

English Translation
'Affan narrated to us, Hammad ibn Zayd narrated to us, 'Ali ibn Zayd and Humayd informed us, from Anas ibn Malik (رضي الله عنه) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ shortened the prayer one day. When he finished, he said: 'Was there a woman who gave birth among you? I heard the crying of a child and was afraid that his mother might be distressed.'
