Hadith #42

حَدَّثَنَا هَاشِمُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ عَنْ ثَابِتٍ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ دَعَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَجُلٌ فَانْطَلَقَ وَانْطَلَقْتُ مَعَهُ قَالَ فَجِيءَ بِمَرَقَةٍ فِيهَا دُبَّاءٌ فَجَعَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَأْكُلُ ذَلِكَ
الدُّبَّاءَ وَيُعْجِبُهُ فَلَمَّا رَأَيْتُ ذَلِكَ جَعَلْتُ أُلْقِيهِ إِلَيْهِ وَلَا أَطْعَمُ مِنْهُ شَيْئًا فَقَالَ أَنَسٌ فَمَا زِلْتُ أُحِبُّهُ قَالَ سُلَيْمَانُ فَحَدَّثْتُ بِهَذَا الْحَدِيثِ سُلَيْمَانَ التَّيْمِيَّ فَقَالَ مَا أَتَيْنَا أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ قَطُّ فِي زَمَانِ الدُّبَّاءِ إِلَّا وَجَدْنَاهُ فِي طَعَامِهِ

English Translation
Hashim ibn al-Qasim narrated to us, Sulayman narrated to us, from Thabit, from Anas ibn Malik (رضي الله عنه) who said: A man invited the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, so he went and I went with him. A broth was brought containing gourd (dubba'). the Messenger of Allah ﷺ began picking out the pieces of gourd from around the bowl. Anas said: From that day on, I have loved gourd.
