Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ بَكْرٍ حَدَّث
َنَا حُمَيْدٌ عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقْدَمُ عَلَيْكُمْ قَوْمٌ هُمْ أَرَقُّ أَفْئِدَةً مِنْكُمْ فَلَمَّا دَنَوْا مِنْ الْمَدِينَةِ جَعَلُوا يَرْتَجِزُونَ غَدًا نَلْقَى الْأَحِبَّهْ مُحَمَّدًا وَحِزْبَهْ فَقَدِمَ الْأَشْعَرِيُّونَ فِيهِمْ أَبُو مُوسَى الْأَشْعَرِيُّ

English Translation
Abdullah ibn Bakr narrated to us, Humayd narrated to us, from Anas who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "A people are coming to you who are more tender-hearted than you." When they drew near to Madinah, they began chanting poetry: 'Tomorrow we shall meet the beloveds, Muhammad and his party.' When they arrived, he ﷺ said: "These are the Ash'ariyyun." They were the first to introduce the handshake.
