Hadith #503
Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزٌ وَعَفَّانُ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ فَقَالَ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ حَمْدًا كَثِيرًا طَيِّبًا مُبَارَكًا فِيهِ فَلَمَّا قَضَى النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الصَّلَاةَ قَالَ أَيُّكُمْ الْقَائِلُ كَلِمَةَ كَذَا وَكَذَا قَالَ فَأَرَمَّ الْقَوْمُ قَالَ فَأَعَادَهَا ثَلَاث
َ مَرَّاتٍ فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ أَنَا قُلْتُهَا وَمَا أَرَدْتُ بِهَا إِلَّا الْخَيْرَ قَالَ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَقَدْ ابْتَدَرَهَا اثْنَا عَشَرَ مَلَكًا فَمَا دَرَوْا كَيْفَ يَكْتُبُونَهَا حَتَّى سَأَلُوا رَبَّهُمْ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ فَقَالَ اكْتُبُوهَا كَمَا قَالَ عَبْدِي

English Translation
Bahz and Affan narrated to us, they said: Hammam narrated to us, Qatadah narrated to us, from Anas who said: A man came to the Prophet ﷺ during the prayer and said: 'All praise is due to Allah, abundant, good, and blessed praise.' When the Prophet ﷺ finished his prayer, he said: "Who spoke those words?" The man remained silent. He ﷺ said: "Who said it? He did not say anything wrong." The man said: 'I said it, O Messenger of Allah.' He ﷺ said: "I saw twelve angels racing to see which of them would take it up first."
