حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ ثَابِتٍ الْبُنَانِيِّ عَنْ أَنَسِ ب

ْنِ مَالِكٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَمَّا صَوَّرَ اللَّهُ آدَمَ فِي الْجَنَّةِ تَرَكَهُ مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ أَنْ يَتْرُكَهُ فَجَعَلَ إِبْلِيسُ يَطِيفُ بِهِ وَيَنْظُرُ مَا هُوَ فَلَمَّا رَآهُ أَجْوَفَ عَرَفَ أَنَّهُ خُلِقَ خَلْقًا لَمْ يَتَمَالَكْ

English Translation

Yunus narrated to us, Hammad ibn Salamah narrated to us, from Thabit al-Bunani, from Anas ibn Malik (رضي الله عنه) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'When Allah fashioned Adam in Paradise, He left him as long as He willed. Iblis began circling around him, examining what he was. When he saw that he was hollow, he knew that he was a creation that would not have self-restraint.'
