حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَيَّانَ وَهُوَ أَبُو خَالِد

ٍ الْأَحْمَرُ عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُقْبِلُ عَلَيْنَا بِوَجْهِهِ قَبْلَ أَنْ يُكَبِّرَ فَيَقُولُ تَرَاصُّوا وَاعْتَدِلُوا فَإِنِّي أَرَاكُمْ مِنْ وَرَاءِ ظَهْرِي

English Translation

Sulayman ibn Hayyan — Abu Khalid al-Ahmar — narrated to us, from Humayd, from Anas (رضي الله عنه) who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to face us before the takbir and say, 'Stand close together and straighten your rows, for indeed I see you from behind my back.'
