حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ أَخْبَرَنَا ثَابِتٌ وَعَلِيُّ بْنُ زَيْدٍ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ أَنَّ الْمُشْرِكِينَ لَمَّا رَهِقُوا النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ فِي سَبْعَةٍ مِنْ الْأَنْصَارِ وَرَجُلَيْنِ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ قَالَ مَنْ يَرُدُّهُمْ عَنَّا و
َهُوَ رَفِيقِي فِي الْجَنَّةِ فَجَاءَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ الْأَنْصَارِ فَقَاتَلَ حَتَّى قُتِلَ فَلَمَّا أَرْهَقُوهُ أَيْضًا قَالَ مَنْ يَرُدُّهُمْ عَنِّي وَهُوَ رَفِيقِي فِي الْجَنَّةِ حَتَّى قُتِلَ السَّبْعَةُ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِصَاحِبِهِ مَا أَنْصَفْنَا إِخْوَانَنَا

English Translation
Affan narrated to us, Hammad narrated to us, Thabit and Ali ibn Zayd informed us, from Anas ibn Malik (رضي الله عنه), that when the polytheists pressed upon the Prophet ﷺ while he was with seven of the Ansar and two men of Quraysh, he said: 'Who will drive them back from us and he shall be my companion in Paradise?' A man from the Ansar came forward and fought until he was killed. Then they pressed again, and he said: 'Who will drive them back from us and he shall be my companion in Paradise?' Another Ansari man came forward and fought until he was killed. This continued until all seven were killed.
