Hadith #118
Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ عَنْ ثَابِتٍ عَنْ أَنَسٍ أَنّ
َ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ ثَلَاثٌ مَنْ كُنَّ فِيهِ وَجَدَ حَلَاوَةَ الْإِيمَانِ مَنْ كَانَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ وَرَسُولُهُ أَحَبَّ إِلَيْهِ مِمَّا سِوَاهُمَا وَالرَّجُلُ يُحِبُّ الرَّجُلَ لَا يُحِبُّهُ إِلَّا لِلَّهِ وَالرَّجُلُ أَنْ يُقْذَفَ فِي النَّارِ أَحَبُّ إِلَيْهِ مِنْ أَنْ يَرْجِعَ يَهُودِيًّا أَوْ نَصْرَانِيًّا

English Translation
Affan narrated to us, Hammad narrated to us, from Thabit, from Anas (رضي الله عنه), that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'There are three qualities, whoever has them will find the sweetness of faith: that Allah (عز وجل) and His Messenger are more beloved to him than anything else; that he loves a person only for the sake of Allah; and that he hates to return to disbelief after Allah has saved him from it, just as he would hate to be thrown into the Fire.'
