حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ خَطَبَ يَوْمًا فَذَكَرَ رَجُلًا مِنْ أَصْحَابِهِ قُبِضَ فَكُفِّنَ فِي كَفَنٍ غَيْرِ طَائِلٍ وَقُبِرَ لَيْلًا فَزَجَرَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ ي
ُقْبَرَ الرَّجُلُ بِاللَّيْلِ حَتَّى يُصَلَّى عَلَيْهِ إِلَّا أَنْ يُضْطَرَّ إِنْسَانٌ إِلَى ذَلِكَ وَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا كَفَّنَ أَحَدُكُمْ أَخَاهُ فَلْيُحْسِنْ كَفَنَهُ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ قَالَ سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ مُوسَى سُئِلَ جَابِرٌ عَنْ الْكَفَنِ فَأَخْبَرَ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَطَبَ يَوْمًا فَذَكَرَ رَجُلًا قُبِضَ وَكُفِّنَ فِي كَفَنٍ غَيْرِ طَائِلٍ فَذَكَرَ مِثْلَهُ

English Translation
Abd al-Razzaq narrated to us, Ibn Jurayj informed us, Abu al-Zubayr informed us that he heard Jabir ibn Abdullah (رضي الله عنه) narrate from the Prophet ﷺ, that he gave a sermon one day and mentioned a man among his Companions who died and was shrouded in an insufficient shroud and buried at night. the Prophet ﷺ rebuked burying at night until the funeral prayer is performed, unless one is compelled to do so. the Prophet ﷺ said: 'When one of you shrouds his brother, let him do it well.'
