English Translation

Yahya ibn Sa'id narrated to us, from 'Abd al-Malik — and Ishaq ibn Yusuf al-Azraq narrated to us: 'Abd al-Malik narrated to us — from 'Ata', from Jabir (رضي الله عنهما), who said: I married a woman during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and he said: 'Have you married, O Jabir?' I said: 'Yes.' He said: 'A virgin or a previously married woman?' I said: 'A previously married woman.' He said: 'Why not a young virgin with whom you could play and she could play with you?'
