Abu Bakr al-Siddiq Abdullah ibn Abi Quhafa al-Taymi (may Allah be pleased with him) was the closest Companion of the Prophet ﷺ, the first adult male to embrace Islam, and the first Caliph of Islam after the Prophet's death. He accompanied the Prophet ﷺ during the Hijra and hid with him in the Cave of Thawr. He served as the Prophet's companion, advisor, and trusted deputy throughout the prophetic mission. His daughter Aisha became the Prophet's wife. After the Prophet's passing, he led the Muslim community for two years and three months (11–13 AH), during which he suppressed the apostasy movements, completed the conquest of the Arabian Peninsula, and initiated the compilation of the Quran. He narrated relatively few hadiths — approximately 142 — due to his extreme caution about attributing anything to the Prophet ﷺ without certainty. He passed away in 13 AH and was buried next to the Prophet ﷺ in the Prophet's Mosque in Medina. He is considered the greatest of the Companions by Ahl us-Sunnah.
