English Translation
Yahya narrated to us, from Sufyan, from Mansur, from Salim ibn Abi al-Ja'd, from Jabir ibn Abdullah (رضي الله عنهما), who said: When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibited [certain] containers [for making nabidh], the Ansar said: 'We have no choice [we need them].' He said: 'Then it is not [prohibited for you]' — meaning he gave them permission to use whatever containers they had, as long as they did not drink intoxicants.
