Hadith #341
ِيَ عَلَيَّ فَلَمْ أُكَلِّمْهُ فَتَوَضَّأَ فَصَبَّهُ عَلَيَّ فَأَفَقْتُ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ كَيْفَ أَصْنَعُ فِي مَالِي وَلِي أَخَوَاتٌ قَالَ فَنَزَلَتْ آيَةُ الْمِيرَاثِ { يَسْتَفْتُونَكَ قُلْ اللَّهُ يُفْتِيكُمْ فِي الْكَلَالَةِ } كَانَ لَيْسَ لَهُ وَلَدٌ وَلَهُ أَخَوَاتٌ { إِنْ امْرُؤٌ هَلَكَ لَيْسَ لَهُ وَلَدٌ وَلَهُ أُخْتٌ }

English Translation
Sufyan narrated to us, from Ibn al-Munkadir, who heard Jabir (رضي الله عنهما) say: I fell ill, and the Prophet ﷺ came to visit me, he and Abu Bakr, both walking. I had lost consciousness and could not speak to him. He performed wudu and poured the water on me, and I regained consciousness. I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, how should I dispose of my wealth?' He did not answer me until the verse of inheritance was revealed: 'They ask you for a ruling. Say: Allah gives you a ruling concerning those who leave neither descendants nor ascendants.'
