حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ الْمُنْكَدِرِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ جَابِرًا يَقُولُ جَاءَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ الْأَعْرَابِ فَأَسْلَمَ فَبَايَعَهُ عَلَى الْهِجْرَةِ فَلَمْ يَلْبَثْ أَنْ جَاءَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّ
ى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ أَقِلْنِي فَقَالَ لَا أُقِيلُكَ ثُمَّ أَتَاهُ فَقَالَ أَقِلْنِي فَقَالَ لَا أُقِيلُكَ ثُمَّ أَتَاهُ فَقَالَ أَقِلْنِي فَقَالَ لَا فَفَرَّ فَقَالَ الْمَدِينَةُ كَالْكِيرِ تَنْفِي خَبَثَهَا وَتَنْصَعُ طَيِّبَهَا

جابرا يقول جاء إلى رسول الله
English Translation
Sufyan narrated to us, Ibn al-Munkadir narrated to us, he said: I heard Jabir (رضي الله عنهما) say: A bedouin came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, accepted Islam, and pledged allegiance for the hijrah. Not long after, the bedouin came to the Prophet ﷺ with a fever and said: 'Release me from my pledge.' the Prophet ﷺ refused. He came again, and the Prophet ﷺ refused. The bedouin left [Madinah], and the Prophet ﷺ said: 'Madinah is like a furnace — it expels its impurities and retains its pure gold.'
