حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ أَخْبَرَنَا لَيْثٌ عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ جِيءَ بِأَبِي قُحَافَةَ يَوْمَ الْفَت
ْحِ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَكَأَنَّ رَأْسَهُ ثَغَامَةٌ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ اذْهَبُوا بِهِ إِلَى بَعْضِ نِسَائِهِ فَلْيُغَيِّرْهُ بِشَيْءٍ وَجَنِّبُوهُ السَّوَادَ
Isnad Chain
English Translation
Isma'il informed us, Layth informed us, from Abu al-Zubayr, from Jabir (رضي الله عنهما), who said: Abu Quhafah [the father of Abu Bakr] was brought on the day of the Conquest [of Makkah] to the Prophet ﷺ, and his head was like a thaghamah plant [i.e., completely white]. the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Change this [hair color] with something, but avoid black.'
