English Translation
Isma'il narrated to us, from Ibn Jurayj, from Abu al-Zubayr, from Jabir (رضي الله عنهما), who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Pre-emption [shuf'ah] applies in every partnership — in a house or a garden. It is not permissible for him to sell it until he informs his partner. If his partner wishes, he takes it; and if he wishes, he leaves it. If he sells it without informing him, his partner has more right to it.'
