English Translation
Abu Mu'awiyah narrated to us, al-A'mash narrated to us, from Abu Sufyan, from Jabir (رضي الله عنهما), who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'When the mu'adhin calls the adhan, Shaytan flees until he reaches al-Rawha' — which is thirty-six miles from Madinah. When the adhan is over, he returns. When the iqamah is called, he flees. When it is over, he returns and whispers to a person between him and his soul until he says: Remember such and such, remember such and such — things he was not remembering — until the man does not know how much he prayed.'
