English Translation
Yahya narrated to us, from Ja'far, my father narrated to me, from Jabir ibn Abdullah (رضي الله عنهما): "the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to say in his khutbah after the tashahhud: 'The best of speech is the Book of Allah (عز وجل), and the best of guidance is the guidance of Muhammad ﷺ. The worst of matters are innovations, and every innovation is misguidance.' He would say: 'I am closer to every believer than his own self. Whoever leaves behind wealth, it is for his family. And whoever leaves behind a debt or dependents, it is upon me and my responsibility.'"
