English Translation
Abu al-Nadr narrated to us, Abu Khaythamah narrated to us, Abu al-Zubayr narrated to us, from Jabir (رضي الله عنه), who said: "Nabidh (date drink) used to be prepared for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in a waterskin (siqa'). If a waterskin was not available, it was prepared for him in a stone vessel (tawr). One of the men said: 'It used to be prepared in a gourd (dubba').' Abu al-Zubayr said: Jabir informed me and swore that the Prophet ﷺ prohibited (preparing nabidh in) earthenware jars (hantam), gourds (dubba'), and pitch-coated vessels (muzaffat)."
