حَدَّثَنَا هَاشِمٌ وَحَسَنُ بْنُ مُوسَى قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الزُّبَ
يْرِ قَالَ حَسَنٌ عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَا تَذْبَحُوا إِلَّا مُسِنَّةً إِلَّا أَنْ تَعْسُرَ عَلَيْكُمْ فَتَذْبَحُوا جَذَعَةً مِنْ الضَّأْنِ

English Translation
Hashim and Hasan ibn Musa narrated to us, both said: Zuhayr narrated to us, Abu al-Zubayr narrated to us — Hasan said: from Abu al-Zubayr — from Jabir (رضي الله عنه), who said: "the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Do not slaughter for sacrifice except a musinnah (an animal that has reached maturity and shed its baby teeth). Unless that is difficult for you, in which case you may slaughter a jadh'ah (young sheep — six months to one year old).'"
