حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ حَدَّثَنَا زَكَرِيَّا حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ يَقُولُ غَزَوْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللّ
َهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ تِسْعَ عَشْرَةَ غَزْوَةً قَالَ جَابِرٌ لَمْ أَشْهَدْ بَدْرًا وَلَا أُحُدًا مَنَعَنِي أَبِي قَالَ فَلَمَّا قُتِلَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ لَمْ أَتَخَلَّفْ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي غَزْوَةٍ قَطُّ

English Translation
Rawh narrated to us, Zakariyya narrated to us, Abu al-Zubayr narrated to us that he heard Jabir ibn Abdullah (رضي الله عنهما) saying: "I went on nineteen military expeditions with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ." Jabir said: "I did not witness Badr or Uhud — my father prevented me. After 'Abdullah (my father) was killed (at Uhud), I never stayed behind from any expedition with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ."
