حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ حَدَّثَنَا زَكَرِيَّا حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ
أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ يَقُولُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا رَأَيْتُمْ الْهِلَالَ فَصُومُوا وَإِذَا رَأَيْتُمُوهُ فَأَفْطِرُوا فَإِنْ غُمَّ عَلَيْكُمْ فَعُدُّوا ثَلَاثِينَ يَوْمًا

English Translation
Rawh narrated to us, Zakariyya narrated to us, Abu al-Zubayr narrated to us that he heard Jabir ibn Abdullah (رضي الله عنهما) saying: "the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'When you see the crescent moon (of Ramadan), fast. And when you see it (the crescent of Shawwal), break your fast. If it is obscured from you (by clouds), then complete the count of thirty days.'"
