ٍ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ عَرْشُ إِبْلِيسَ عَلَى الْبَحْرِ يَبْعَثُ سَرَايَاهُ فَأَعْظَمُهُمْ عِنْدَهُ مَنْزِلَةً أَعْظَمُهُمْ فِتْنَةً

English Translation

Abu Ahmad narrated to us, Sufyan narrated to us, from Abu al-Zubayr, from Jabir (رضي الله عنه), from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, who said: "The throne of Iblis is on the sea. He sends out his troops (saraya). The greatest of them in status before him is the greatest of them in causing fitnah (corruption and mischief). One of them comes and says: 'I did not leave him until I separated him from his wife.' Iblis brings him close and says: 'Yes! You are the best!'"
