English Translation
Abu 'Amir al-'Aqadi narrated to us, Qurrah narrated to us, from 'Amr ibn Dinar, from Jabir (رضي الله عنه), who said: "While the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was distributing the spoils of Hunayn, a man stood up and said: 'Be just!' He said: 'You will be miserable if I am not just. Who will be just if I am not just?' 'Umar ibn al-Khattab (رضي الله عنه) said: 'O Messenger of Allah, let me strike the neck of this hypocrite.' He said: 'May Allah protect me from having the people say that I kill my companions.'"
