Hadith #91
Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ زَيْدٍ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَمُرُّ بِبَابِ فَاطِمَةَ سِتَّةَ أَشْهُرٍ إِذَا خَرَجَ إِلَى صَلَاةِ الْفَجْرِ يَقُولُ الصَّلَاةُ يَا أَهْلَ الْبَيْتِ { إِنَّمَا يُرِيدُ اللَّهُ لِيُذْهِبَ عَنْكُمْ الرِّجْسَ أَهْلَ الْبَيْتِ وَيُطَهِّرَكُمْ تَطْهِيرًا }
English Translation
Affan narrated to us, Hammad narrated to us, Ali ibn Zayd informed us, from Anas ibn Malik (رضي الله عنه), that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pass by the door of Fatimah (رضي الله عنها) for six months when he went out for the Fajr prayer, saying: 'The prayer, O People of the House! Indeed, Allah only intends to remove impurity from you, O People of the House, and to purify you thoroughly' [33:33].
