Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ جَابِرٍ
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ قَالَ رَبُّنَا عَزَّ وَجَلَّ الصِّيَامُ جُنَّةٌ يَسْتَجِيرُ بِهَا الْعَبْدُ مِنْ النَّارِ وَهُوَ لِي وَأَنَا أَجْزِي بِهِ

English Translation
Hasan narrated to us, Ibn Lahi'ah narrated to us, Abu al-Zubayr narrated to us, from Jabir (رضي الله عنه) — that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Our Lord عز وجل said: 'Fasting is a shield by which the servant protects himself from the Fire. It is for Me, and I shall reward for it. The breath of the fasting person is more pleasant to Allah than the fragrance of musk.'
