English Translation
Hasan narrated to us, Ibn Lahi'ah narrated to us, Abu al-Zubayr narrated to us — Jabir ibn Abdullah (رضي الله عنهما) informed me — that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'There will come upon Madinah a time when the people will go out to the distant lands seeking livelihood. They will find places more spacious and more abundant in provision than Madinah. Then Madinah will be left behind, and only the wild beasts and birds will inhabit it. The last people to be gathered [on the Day of Judgment] will be two shepherds from the tribe of Muzaynah, heading toward Madinah, driving their sheep, and they will find it empty.'
