English Translation

Hujayn and Yunus narrated to us, both said: Layth ibn Sa'd narrated to us, from Abu al-Zubayr, from Jabir (رضي الله عنه), who said: "the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had separated from his wives for a month. He came out to us on the twenty-ninth (day). We said: 'It is only the twenty-ninth day.' He said: 'The month can be twenty-nine.'" And he clapped his hands three times, twice with all ten fingers and the third with nine — indicating twenty-nine.
