حَدَّثَنَا حُجَيْنٌ حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ وَإِسْحَاقُ بْنُ عِيسَى حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ جَاءَ عَبْدٌ فَبَايَعَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى ا
للَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى الْهِجْرَةِ وَلَمْ يَشْعُرْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ عَبْدٌ فَجَاءَ سَيِّدُهُ يُرِيدُهُ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِعْنِيهِ فَاشْتَرَاهُ بِعَبْدَيْنِ أَسْوَدَيْنِ ثُمَّ لَمْ يُبَايِعْ أَحَدًا بَعْدُ حَتَّى يَسْأَلَهُ أَعَبْدٌ هُوَ

English Translation
Hujayn narrated to us, Layth narrated to us, from Abu al-Zubayr — and Ishaq ibn Isa narrated to us, Layth narrated to us, Abu al-Zubayr narrated to me — from Jabir ibn Abdullah (رضي الله عنهما) who said: A slave came and pledged allegiance to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on the Hijrah. the Prophet ﷺ did not realize he was a slave. Then his master came seeking him. the Prophet ﷺ said: 'Sell him to me.' So he purchased him for two black slaves. Then after that, he would not accept anyone's pledge of allegiance until he asked: 'Is he a slave?'
