‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏حَسَنٌ ‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ ‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ ‏ ‏حَدَّثَنِي ‏ ‏جَابِرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ‏ ‏أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏أَمَرَ ‏ ‏عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ ‏ ‏رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ‏ ‏زَمَانَ الْفَتْحِ أَنْ يَأْتِيَ ‏ ‏الْبَيْتَ ‏ ‏وَهُوَ ‏ ‏بِالْبَطْحَاءِ ‏ ‏فَيَمْحُوَ كُلَّ صُورَةٍ فِيهِ وَلَمْ يَدْخُلْهُ حَتَّى مُحِيَتْ كُلُّ صُورَةٍ فِيهِ ‏

English Translation

Hasan narrated to us, Ibn Lahi'ah narrated to us, Abu al-Zubayr narrated to us, Jabir ibn Abdullah (رضي الله عنهما) narrated to me: "the Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded 'Umar ibn al-Khattab (رضي الله عنه) at the time of the Conquest (of Makkah) to go to the Ka'bah and erase all the images (pictures) in it. the Prophet ﷺ did not enter it until all the images had been erased."
