حَدَّثَنَا شَاذَانُ أَسْوَدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَقِيلٍ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ لَمَّا أَرَادَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْ
هِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ يُخَلِّفَ عَلِيًّا رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ قَالَ لَهُ عَلِيٌّ مَا يَقُولُ النَّاسُ فِيَّ إِذَا خَلَّفْتَنِي قَالَ فَقَالَ مَا تَرْضَى أَنْ تَكُونَ مِنِّي بِمَنْزِلَةِ هَارُونَ مِنْ مُوسَى إِلَّا أَنَّهُ لَيْسَ بَعْدِي نَبِيٌّ أَوْ لَا يَكُونُ بَعْدِي نَبِيٌّ

English Translation
Shadhan Aswad ibn 'Amir narrated to us, Sharik narrated to us, from 'Abdullah ibn Muhammad ibn 'Aqil, from Jabir ibn Abdullah (رضي الله عنهما), who said: "When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ wanted to build the masjid, he said: 'O Banu al-Najjar, name your price for this garden of yours.' They said: 'By Allah, we do not seek its price except from Allah.' So the masjid was built." The hadith describes the building of the Prophet ﷺ's Mosque in Madinah.
